As we travel around the state, both virtually and in person, Hometown Strong collects unique and resourceful innovations that are being used by our local government and non-profit partners to deliver excellent service for their citizens. We conduct these case studies so that we may share these innovations across the state to the benefit of all North Carolinians. Municipal case studies are done in partnership with the League of Municipalities.

The 2020 Rural Resource Inventory aims to alleviate some of the pressure added to local governments during the COVID-19 public health crisis by minimizing the energy spent on researching while maximizing opportunities, making it easier to discover and access state resources. Local governments will be able to invest that saved time and energy into projects that make their communities unique; strengthening North Carolina’s diversity through preserving its rural spaces.
