Emily has over two decades of grant writing experience across the country and in North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Policy from Western Carolina University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a research thesis in Rural Economic Development. Her experience includes work with local and regional governments, universities, federal agencies, and nonprofits on various social issues, including housing, economic and community development, food systems, supply chain infrastructure, and inclusive community engagement programs. She lives in Asheville with her family and is a native of western North Carolina.
