Sam Saunders is Hometown Strong’s Digital Equity Field Representative. In this role she serves as the “boots on the ground” for two pilot programs to increase digital literacy rates across rural North Carolina, Digital Ambassadors and Tech Teams.
Sam has previously served as a Legislative Assistant in the North Carolina House of Representatives and has staffed several statewide political campaigns. She has a Bachelor of Science in Polymer & Color Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, both from North Carolina State University.
Sam is from the small town of Rocky Point, North Carolina. She lives in Raleigh now but hopes to one day move back to Eastern North Carolina. Outside of her work with Hometown Strong, Sam enjoys restoring vintage furniture and exploring Raleigh’s expansive greenway network.
